WORLD INFO

- The overall setting encompasses multiple worlds and realities, stemming from a center "node" simply called "Origin". Paige originates from a node that is, functionally, just Earth with a different name. The primary difference just being that it is connected to the overall web of existence stemming from Origin, and so sometimes deity-like immortal beings that can traverse the nodes pass through her world.
- Typically they remain unnoticed, blending in as people or animals, or appearing briefly in strange ways that spawn legends of cryptids, mythical beasts, etc.
- These beings usually have the ability to alter a fundamental force of reality in some way - altering it, creating it, or destroying it at will.
- Sometimes these fundamental forces over which they reign are as simple as elemental forces, sometimes they are as complex as concepts or ideas.
- With one notable exception, creation requires an investment of personal life force or power, which then has to be renewed over time or through the consumption of equivalent energies. For example, to create fire, one would expend a portion of their own inner flame to do so.
- Although difficult, it is not impossible to kill a Primordial. Usually this involves another Primordial consuming the soul of the other, which also transfers a portion of their powers to the one who consumes them.
- The other method is summoning the embodiment of Entropy and petitioning it to erase a Primordial's soul from all realities. This is generally considered an unwise choice, as Entropy is not easily convinced to do anything at all, and is rarely satisfied by just one soul, primordial or not, if it has been forced to take a physical form.

CHARACTER INFO

- Paige was a mortal human on a node reminiscent of our Earth.
- In life, she managed a small coffee shop with a focus on enriching the community. She kept a free library of (primarily) banned books, kept a no questions asked food pantry, and had events most nights that aimed to make connections for people. Open mics, d&d nights, etc. Each Saturday was "Caturday", where the local shelter brought over cats that needed to be adopted to turn the place into a cat cafe for the day.
- Paige considered many people friends during her life, including the eccentric older man that may or may not have been homeless - she never asked. He would come by, buy a coffee, chat for a while, and then observe the comings and goings of the shop until closing. She never actually knew his name - he never offered it and the few times she'd asked, he'd sort of brush past it.
- It was surprising, to say the least, when he explained that he was a primordial being with the power to create without cost, and that he was being hunted by his kin for the rarity of his power. Frankly she thought it might be a mental break he was having, and when he asked if she would be willing to show him one last kindness and hold onto a piece of his soul for him, she humored him. She did not expect this agreement to instantly kill her. He told her to be careful of Entropy and then simply vanished.
- Paige, her own soul now bound to a shard of primordial force, became for all intents and purposes a "ghost". It took her about 20 years to learn how to be seen, several more to learn how to move things in a way that wasn't either launching them across the room or knocking them over. She was just starting to get the hang of haunting places when Entropy showed up the first time.
- Paige has spent the last several centuries hopping between realities to avoid Entropy's grasp. Mostly because she promised her enigmatic friend that she would, but also because she's really come to enjoy the process. She slips between the cracks of reality, sets up a community center like she used to have, forms strong bonds, and leaves when she needs to leave. She likes to imagine she's making each corner of the world a little better by doing so.

POWERS/ABILITIES

Paige was not given the entirety of the primordial's power. Several beings across several realities were given a small shard each, with the intention of making it harder for Entropy or other Primordials to fully devour the soul in question. Each soul shard imparts some passive benefits to the holder, such as:

Age-Based Immortality: Immunity to the ravages of time. Her body, being an emphemeral reflection of her existence, does not decay naturally anymore.
Node Traversal: Able to move freely between the Nodes within the Origin Web. AKA can hop between realities, planes of existence, and worlds at will if and only if they are connected to the same cluster of existences as Origin.

Each shard can also be actively harnessed by the holder to produce a specific effect. As the power itself is "creation without cost", each shard holder's ability is derivative of that. For Paige, that is:

Infinite Hot Beverage Creation: As silly as it may sound, the one thing Paige has always sought to offer others is a warm drink and a kind word. As she is more than capable of speaking kind words without primordial power, she has learned how to hold any liquid-bearing vessel and pour a warm drink from it. The vessel need not have anything in it - better if it doesn't, really. Her intention and focus is what determines the type of drink that comes out of it. Usually it's coffee or tea, sometimes cocoa, but it could conceivably be just about any liquid - she doesn't care to pour hot poison out of a jug for any reason really so like. She hasn't tried it. And yes, the liquid is literally always hot when poured. It can cool down over time afterwards though.

Becoming a ghost/spirit has imparted the following abilities to Paige:

Telekinesis: Able to move objects with sufficient concentration. Her control has reached the point where she can manipulate small objects that she's in contact with effortlessly. Effort required increases with distance and object size.
Invisibility: Paige can exert effort to become invisible/silent, like a proper ghost - the rest of the time she is pretty much a solid human looking figure. She can make herself translucent with little to no effort - proper invisibility takes a lot more effort.
Intangibility: Paige can choose to make herself partially or fully intangible, and thus able to move through solid walls/floors, objects, and even people - although she has to actively intend to do so. Moving through people/living beings tends to cause them to feel cold, ill, or a vague sense of unease. She tries not to do that.

F.A.Q.

Does she need to eat/sleep/etc? CAN she do those things?
Paige doesn't need to eat or drink anymore, although she does need to rest to restore her mental energy and ability to use her non-shard related powers. The creation truly comes without cost - the telekinesis and becoming intangible/invisible on purpose is not without cost. She can't eat or drink as she is literally a ghost, but she can use her senses like smell/taste/touch to perceive a food! And she loves to do so - although most people are not keen on eating food they have seen her lick so she doesn't do much tasting.

Does she feel physical sensations like heat, cold, etc?
Yes, as long as she is manifested and tangible, she can feel temperature, texture, and even pain! The only time she does not feel any of those things is when she is making herself intangible.

So she's able to...what, just literally become untouchable??
She can, yeah. As long as she isn't exhausted or in a weakened state - she can absolutely do too much and have it fail her when she needs it not to fail her. She also can't just. Stay untouchable forever - it takes energy and effort, and she can and has gotten stuck inside of things like walls or locked rooms by being too exhausted to stay intangible while trying to pass through.

How does being invisible work with being intangible?
She can be one or the other, or she can be both, or she can be neither. She can be invisible, but still tangible, or visible, but intangible - both take moderate effort. She can be invisible AND intangible, but that's complex and takes a lot of effort. She is by default visible and solid, and that takes next to no effort.
